Upon entering the valley surrounding the 500 year-old Den Thai Ve Temple, one is transported to a special place of peace, quiet and tranquility. Away from the call of modern living, its noise and clutter, Ninh Binh's only sounds are the chirping of birds in flight that bounce off the valley walls in a series of echoes.
Known as the “Halong Bay on rice paddies”, Ninh Binh boasts of the same majestic limestone formations protruding from the rice fields and scattered along the Ngo Dong River. The river quietly snakes through these mountains of stone, and winds its way through the many secret valleys.
